Seminar dedicated to the Marrakesh and Beijing Treaties will be held in the Tavricheskiy Palace

A seminar entitled “Significance of the Marrakesh and Beijing Treaties” will be held on 17 November 2017 at the headquarters of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly. The event is co-organized by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and the Secretariat of the Council of the IPA CIS.

Experts of the WIPO and representatives of the IPA CIS Permanent Commissions on the Social Policy and Human Rights, on Culture, Information, Tourism and Sport, and on Science and Education will participate in the seminar.

The Beijing Treaty on Audiovisual Performances and the Marrakesh Treaty to Facilitate Access to Published Works by Visually Impaired Persons and Persons with Print Disabilities are aimed at the protection of the interests of people with disabilities and their rights of access to information. The objectives of this seminar are to promote the significance of the treaties and to facilitate further expansion of their country membership.
