Participants of Third Eurasian Women’s Forum Carried on With Bilateral Meetings

On 14 October 2021, bilateral meetings continued on the margins of the Third Eurasian Women’s Forum.

Chairperson of the IPA CIS Council, Speaker of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Valentina Matvienko held a meeting with Speaker of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus Natalya Kochanova. The parties exchanged views on relevant issues of the international agenda and inter-parliamentary cooperation.

Valentina Matvienko also discussed the state of inter-parliamentary ties and the possibility of their expansion with Senator of the National Congress of the Republic of Chile Ximena Cecilia Rincón. The parties noted the productivity of the Russian-Chilean dialogue and spoke for its further strengthening.

Within the framework of the Forum, Natalya Kochanova also met with Vice-President of the OSCE PA Pia Kauma, Speaker of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Tanzila Narbaeva met with Special Representative of the UN Secretary General’s for Central Asia Natalya Gherman, member of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova Zinaida Greceanîi met with Deputy Speaker of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Galina Karelova.

On the same day, Secretary General of the IPA CIS Council Dmitriy Kobitskiy met with Secretary General of the PACE Despina Chatzivassiliou-Tsovilis. The parties discussed plans to hold the conference dedicated to the 25th  anniversary of cooperation between the IPA CIS and the PACE in 2022, and also exchanged the views on promising areas and forms of interaction.
