Third Eurasian Women’s Forum: Main Differences, Behavioral Issues, Key Topics

Today, a press conference devoted to the Third Eurasian Women’s Forum “Women: A Global Mission in a New Reality” took place in the TASS press center.

The event was attended by Deputy Speaker of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, Deputy Chair of the Organizing Committee of the Forum Galina Karelova, Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry of the Russian Federation Gulnaz Kadyrova, Deputy President, Chairperson of the Board, Otkritie Bank; Chairperson of the Women’s Entrepreneurship Development, OPORA RUSSIA All-Russian Non-Governmental Organization of Small and Medium Business Nadia Cherkasova and Chief Executive Officer of the Skolkovo Forum Ekaterina Inozemtseva, etc.

The participants of the press conference presented the program of the upcoming Forum and its main events, the key areas of discussion, including in the field of healthcare development, digital technologies and high-tech industries, women’s entrepreneurship and the environmental and climate agenda.

Galina Karelova noted that, despite all the restrictions, the in-person format would be the main one. “We were ready for any options, but the Forum participants preferred personal communication. As of today, representatives of 104 countries are ready to come to us and have already submitted applications for participation,” she said.

“Despite the diversity, each discussion in one way or another calls for the search for answers to the main questions that concern women in the world today: how to overcome the pandemic and what the post-COVID world should be. Much attention will be paid to the need to transform health systems. And, of course, the consolidation of efforts in the fight against the pandemic will come to the fore,” – said Galina Karelova speaking about the influence of COVID-19 on the agenda.

According to the Deputy Chair, the program was developed with the participation of major international organizations, whose representatives will also act as moderators of the events. She emphasized the high level of representation, noting that over 20 international organizations, including the WHO, the ILO, the Inter-Parliamentary Union, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe, had confirmed their participation in the Forum.
