“We Made Interparliamentary Assembly an Organization of Consolidation of Efforts and Interests”

The round table dedicated to the 30^th anniversary of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly was held in the Tavricheskiy Palace. The event was initiated by the IPA CIS Permanent Commission on Culture, Information, Tourism and Sport.

Secretary General of the IPA CIS Council Dmitriy Kobitskiy, Chair of the Commission, Chair of the Committee of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Science, Education, Culture and Sport Erkin Zakhidov, member of the IPA CIS Permanent Commission on Culture, Information, Tourism and Sport, First Deputy Chair of the Committee of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation on Culture Elena Drapeko, member of the Committee of the of the Majlisi Milli of the Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan on Agrarian Issues and Ecology Zoir Rahmonzoda, Deputy Chairp of the Standing Commission of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus on Education, Culture and Science Irina Ryneiskaya, Deputy Chair of the Committee of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation on Sport and Physical Culture Amir Khamitov, Secretary General of the Serbian People’s Party, member of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia Jovan Palalić, Ex-Secretary of the IPA CIS Permanent Commission on Culture, Information, Tourism and Sport Konstantin Pshenko and representatives of the CIS Executive Committee, academia and public organizations addressed the round table.

The participants discussed issues of international cooperation in education, which became a factor of confidence building in the CIS region, digitalization in model law-making, the role of the Assembly in developing democratic elections standards, the promotion of intercultural dialogue underlying the social and cultural activities of the IPA CIS. In addition, the experience of young CIS cinematographers of interaction on the platform of the IPA CIS was presented at the meeting.
