Valentina Matvienko: International Day of Parliamentarism Has Taken its Rightful Place in Calendar of Festive Events

On the International Day of Parliamentarism, Chairperson of the IPA CIS Council, Speaker of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Valentina Matvienko congratulated her fellow MPs.

The Speaker of the Federation Council recalled that the holiday was initiated by the IPA CIS, supported by the Inter-Parliamentary Union and established by the United Nations. Valentina Matvienko stressed that the protection of the interests of citizens, the realization of the potential of the regions, the successful solution of many topical issues on the global agenda depend on the quality of parliamentary work: achieving sustainable development goals, protecting the environment, supporting youth, ensuring women’s representation.
