National Assembly of Republic of Armenia Extended State of Emergency for Another Month

On 13 April, during a special meeting, the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia considered the extension of the state of emergency for another 30 days – until 14 May 2020. The Government launched this proposal due to the fact that the main causes of the state emergency have not been eliminated. The threat of infection proliferation remains.

According to the information provided to the MPs, as at 13 April, 1039 cases of COVID-19 were registered in Armenia, 211 citizens recovered, 14 people died.

As reported at National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia website, the MPs did not accept the draft decision of the “Bright Armenia” faction on the cancellation of certain activities provided by the state of emergency.
