Parliamentarians of Republic of Moldova Supported Doctors in Combating COVID-19

The MPs and the staff members of the Secretariat of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova donated funds to support doctors in the fight against COVID-19.

The money will be transferred to a special account opened by the Ministry of Finance. The funds are intended for the Toma Ciorbă Infectious Diseases Hospital and the Children's Infectious Diseases Clinical Hospital. These institutions are actively involved in the treatment of patients infected with COVID-19.

Speaker of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova Zinaida Greceanii expressed her appreciation for the MPs and the staff members of the Secretariat of the Parliament for supporting doctors. She also encouraged the residents of the country to be responsible for their own health and the health of other people, respect the norms recommended by the doctors and the conditions established by authorities in a difficult situation.

The press service of the Parliament reported that the MPs and the staff members of the Secretariat collected more than 680 thousand lei. In addition to cash donations, several transport units were provided that are used to transport medical workers from the outskirts of the capital to work. Furthermore, the Secretariat of the Parliament has assumed additional provision of medical institutions with drinking water.
