CIS Council of Permanent Plenipotentiary Representatives Held Regular Meeting Under Chairmanship of Uzbekistan

On 27 October 2020, the CIS Executive Committee hosted a regular meeting of the CIS Council of Permanent Plenipotentiary Representatives at the Statutory and other Bodies of the Commonwealth under the chairmanship of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The first item on the agenda was the discussion of the activities of the CIS Advisory Board on Geodesy, Cartography, Cadastre and Remote Sensing of the Earth. The participants noted the positive role of the Advisory Board in organizing cooperation in the management and use of land resources, which contributed to the strengthening and development of national economies.

The participants also drew the outcomes of the meeting of the Council of the CIS Heads of Government held on 6 November 2020. In order to implement the adopted documents and reached agreements, the meeting participants decided to prepare the relevant Joint Action Plan of the CIS Executive Committee, the CIS Council of Permanent Plenipotentiary Representatives and the Economic Policies Commission at the CIS Economic Council.

Furthermore, the CIS Permanent Plenipotentiary Representatives were briefed on the activities of the CIS Observer Mission, which had monitored six election campaigns in 2020 (Azerbaijan Republic, Republic of Tajikistan, Republic of Belarus, Kyrgyz Republic and Republic of Moldova).

According to the press service of the CIS Executive Committee, the participants also considered the implementation of the Plan of Multi-level Inter-MFA consultations in the CIS for 2020.

The CIS Permanent Plenipotentiary Representatives also discussed the progress of the implementation of the Plan of Priority Measures for the Preparation and Celebration of the 75th Anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945. They noted the active and focused work of the CIS Member Nations and the CIS sectoral cooperation bodies in the implementation of the Plan.
