Meeting of Youth Discussion Club Tavricheskiy in Issyk-Kul Dedicated to Elections in Digital Era

On 24 June, a meeting of the international youth discussion club “Tavricheskiy” was held. It became a part of the program of the Youth Electoral School “Elections in the Digital Era” conducted by the International Institute for Monitoring Democracy Development, Parliamentarianism and Suffrage Protection of Citizens of IPA CIS Member Nations (IPA CIS IIMDD), the IPA CIS IIMDD Bishkek Office and Kyrgyz National University named after J. Balasagyn.

The meeting was attended by professors and students of the IPA CIS partner universities from Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Tajikistan, as well as participants of the International Youth Parliamentary School 2021 and 2022, staff members and experts of the IPA CIS IIMDD and its offices in Baku, Yerevan, Bishkek and Chisinau.

The meeting of the club was dedicated to “Elections in the Digital Era: Electoral Sovereignty vs Open Information Society”.

Opening the meeting, Deputy Head of the IPA CIS Council Secretariat – IPA CIS IIMDD Director Ivan Musket spoke about the youth discussion platform under the auspices of the IPA CIS.

In the main part of the meeting there was a discussion, during which representatives of youth from the CIS countries exchanged views on the digitalization of the electoral process and the ways to protect electoral sovereignty in the modern information society.
