Representatives of Leading International Organizations Discussed Parliamentary Support to Victims of Terrorism

On 7-8 June 2022, a High-level Conference on Parliamentary Support for Victims of Terrorism was held in Rome (Italy).

The event was organized by the United Nations Office of Counter-Terrorism (UNOCT), the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean (PAM), the Parliamentary Assembly of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE PA), the African Parliamentary Union (APU), and the Shura Council of the State of Qatar.

The conference brought together parliamentarians, UN agency representatives, leading experts, members of regional parliamentary assemblies, victims of terrorism, victims’ associations and civil society organizations to outline the best ways to assist parliamentarians in finding legislative measures to implement positive changes at the national level.

Head of the Expert and Analytical Directorate Denis Zhuk, Head of the Department for International Relations, Secretary of the IPA CIS Permanent Commission on Political Issues and International Cooperation Maximillian Selyutin and Deputy Head of the Model Law-Making Department, Secretary of the Joint Commission at the IPA CIS for the Harmonization of National Laws Related to Security, Countering Emerging Threats and Challenges Stanislav Korostelev took part in the event on behalf of the Secretariat of the Council of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly.
