Council of Permanent Representative of CIS Member Nations Met in Minsk for Its Regular Meeting.

Today, a regular meeting of the Council of Permanent Plenipotentiary Representatives of the CIS Member Nations at the Statutory and other Bodies of the Commonwealth was held in Minsk (Republic of Belarus).

The participants of the event summarized the outcomes of the meetings of Council of the CIS Foreign Ministers and the Council of the CIS Heads of Government held on 13 and 20 May, respectively. It was decided to contribute to the implementation of the documents signed at the meetings, create a work plan for implementing the decisions made at these meetings and update the Roadmap for the realization of the initiatives expressed by the heads of delegations during the meetings of the CIS supreme bodies.

Diplomats also took into account information on the prospects for the development of the CIS legal framework. In 2021-2022, it is expected to draft/agree 37 draft documents within the framework of the long-term development of the CIS legal basis. In accordance with the plan, ten of them should be implemented this year. 

According to the press service of the CIS Executive Committee, the permanent representatives decided to hold their next meeting on 28 June.
