Alexey Sergeev, Secretary General of the IPA CIS Council, welcomed in Tavrichesky Palace the participants and guests of the academic council session, dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the North-West Institute of Management. He conveyed to the audience the acknowledgements of Valentina Matvienko, Chairperson of the IPA CIS Council, Speaker of the Federation Council of the National Assembly of the Russian Federation.

Secretary General of the IPA CIS Council mentioned that the Tavrichesky palace was the place where the North-West Institute of Management had been born. He noted that it was impossible to separate the history of the Institute from the history of the high schools, which had been located at the IPA CIS headquarters since 1918, including Leningrad Higher School of the Communist Party, which had been a powerful center of management training for many years.

Alexey Sergeev also mentioned the agreement on cooperation signed between the IPA CIS and the North-West Institute of Management in 2015, emphasizing that “this document provides for actual daily work on management training, as well as research and scientific work on the CIS model laws”. The Secretary General expressed gratitude to all the staff and students of the Institute working to implement this agreement.

Alexey Sergeev added that the IPA CIS would celebrate its 25th anniversary in March 2017. He presented awards to the staff of the Institute in recognition of their efforts.

Governor of St. Petersburg Georgy Poltavchenko, Director of the North-West Institute of the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration Vladimir Kirillov and other senior officials attended the session.
