Draft CIS Concept of Cooperation in Countering Corruption: further improvements planned in Minsk

On 21-22 September, the group of experts on drafting the CIS Concept of Cooperation in Countering Corruption will hold a supplementary meeting in Minsk.

In June 2016 the document was generally approved by the experts and submitted for inter-governmental approval to the Commonwealth countries. A series of comments to the draft filed later necessitated a supplementary expert meeting.

The development of the draft Concept is driven by the need for further streamlined enhancement of CIS cooperation to ensure coordinated action in countering corruption.

The purpose of the document is to improve legal and organizational framework of the cooperation in this field and define principles, objectives and key areas and forms of cooperation.

The provisions of the Concept will be a basis for the development of international treaties and other international and domestic legal acts across the CIS, as well as intergovernmental policies on combating corruption.
