IPU Assembly in Zambia supports the outcomes of the Eurasian Women's Forum

The Coordinating Committee of Women MPs held a meeting as part of the 134 IPU Assembly in Lusaka (Zambia). At this meeting Russian senators shared on the results if the Eurasian Women's Forum held in 2015 in St. Petersburg.

First Vice Chair, Federation Council Committee on Science, Education and Culture Lilia Gumerova noted that the members of the Coordinating Committee of Women MPs commended the ideas voiced during the Eurasian Women's Forum focusing on the issues of well-being and sustainable development, international cooperation and empowerment of women in politics, economy and business.

"We spread the word about the Forum's role as one of the major hi-profile global women gatherings recently. The Forum brought together women from 80 countries including the CIS, leading European nations, USA, Latin America, and Africa. We, as women MPs from various countries, shared the opinion about the need to enhance our humanitarian cooperation through joint projects and policies", said Lilia Gumerova.
