A meeting of the Organizing Committee of the IV Eurasian Women's Forum (EWF) was held in Moscow under the leadership of Chairperson of the IPA CIS Council, Speaker of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Valentina Matvienko.

The EWF will be held from 18 to 20 September in St. Petersburg. One of the venues of the event will be the Tavricheskiy Palace – the headquarters of the IPA CIS, which along with the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation is the organizer of the forum.

The Head of the Upper Chamber of the Russian Parliament said that the preliminary theme of the fourth forum was “Women for Confidence Building and Global Cooperation” and called for building the widest possible application campaign, inviting the most authoritative speakers and expanding the geography of the forum.

Valentina Matvienko reminded that in the period between the Forums the First Dialogue of Women of Central Asia and Russia, as well as sessions of the EWF Council at such major venues as Russia – Africa Economic and Humanitarian Forum and the Forum “Russia - Islamic World” were held. In addition, the Woman Leader educational program, the International Contest of Women's Entrepreneurial Projects in APEC and international forums for women in the nuclear industry have gained popularity.

The Speaker of the Federation Council noted the importance of the fact that the Eurasian Women's Forum had contributed to the creation of new international associations, such as the Eurasian Association of Women Regional Leaders, the International Council for the Support and Development of Women in Technology and Industry, and the BRICS Women's Business Alliance. The “Compatriots Abroad” project of the Russian Federation is being developed, and cooperation on the margins of the Women's G20 is increasing.

In view of the fact that this year has been declared the Year of the Family by the President of the Russian Federation, the Head of the Federation Council proposed that one of the thematic sessions of the Forum be devoted to the protection of traditional family values and support for motherhood and childhood.

The business part of the upcoming Forum includes an investment lounge, an exchange of women's technological projects, organization of public-private and business dialogues with the signing of agreements aimed at the formation of new vectors of cooperation and implementation of projects.

Secretary General of the IPA CIS Council Dmitriy Kobitskiy took part in the meeting of the organizing committee.
