Baku Hosts Seminar on Social and Legal Protection of Children in Azerbaijan Republic

On 31 May 2021, an online seminar “Social and Legal Protection of Children’s Rights in the Azerbaijan Republic”, organized by the IPA CIS IIMDD Baku Office took place.

The event was moderated by Director of the Office Teymur Muradov.

The seminar was attended by Deputy Chair of the Committee of the Milli Mejlis of the Azerbaijan Republic on Family, Women and Children Affairs Zhala Aliyeva, member of the Committee of the Milli Mejlis of the Azerbaijan Republic on Family, Women and Children Affairs Sadagat Veliyeva, member of Committee of the Milli Mejlis of the Azerbaijan Republic on Family, Women and Children Affairs Ramin Mammadov, Deputy Secretary General of the IPA CIS Council – Plenipotentiary Representative of the Milli Mejlis of the Azerbaijan Republic Aidyn Jafarov, Deputy Head of the IPA CIS Council Secretariat – Director of the IPA CIS IIMDD Ivan Mushket, heads and representatives of public authorities, civil society and research organizations.

The welcoming speech of Secretary General – Head of the IPA CIS Council Secretariat Dmitriy Kobitskiy, delivered by Aidyn Jafarov, noted the Assembly’s activities in the field of ensuring the protection of children’s rights through the development and adoption of model legislative acts. Aidyn Jafarov stressed the importance of the issue under discussion and recalled that the event was taking place on the eve of the International Children’s Day. Ivan Mushket spoke about the practical work with young people carried out by the Institute and its offices.

The members of the Milli Mejlis shared with the participants of the seminar the information on the activities of the Milli Mejlis in terms of ensuring and protecting the rights of children in the Azerbaijan Republic and on the regulatory framework established in this area.
