Participants of Electoral Campaign in Moldova Shared Opinions on Run-Off Elections with IPA CIS Observers

Today, the IPA CIS Observer Team met with head of the headquarters of the candidate Igor Dodon – Vlad Batrincea – and the presidential candidate Maia Sandu.

Vlad Batrincea told about the electoral campaign of his team and organization of the monitoring at the polling stations during the run-off elections.

Tomorrow, the observers from the Dodon’s headquarters will monitor the elections at the foreign polling stations and record violations if they occur.

The IPA CIS observers also met with presidential candidate Maia Sandu. Observer Team Coordinator Rufat Guliyev told about the monitoring of the first round of elections and said that according to the CIS observers, the elections, in general, had been democratic and transparent and had been held in accordance with the legislation of Moldova.

The participants discussed the progress of the run-off elections, including the incident at the polling station near the border of the Transnistrian district that happened on 1 November 2020.

Tomorrow, the IPA CIS observers will continue monitoring of the presidential elections in the Republic of Moldova at the polling stations in Moldova and foreign polling stations in Baku (Azerbaijan Republic), Minsk (Republic of Belarus), Moscow and St. Petersburg (Russian Federation).
