Meeting of the Organizing Committee of the 137th IPU Assembly took place in Moscow

Meeting of the Organizing Committee was led by Chairperson of the IPA CIS Council, Speaker of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Valentina Matvienko and Speaker of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin.

Vyacheslav Volodin: "For one week, St. Petersburg will become the capital of world parliamentarianism".

Valentina Matvienko: "We expect that the delegation will engage in dynamic and productive deliberations during the Assembly, including meetings of standing committees, the Forum of Women Parliamentarians and the Forum of Young Parliamentarians"

Deputy Speaker of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Ilyas Umakhanov noted that 88 heads of foreign parliaments had confirmed their participation at the IPU Session.

The meeting brought together Head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation Vladimir Puchkov, First Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation Alexandr Gorovoy, State Secretary, Deputy Minister of Public Health of the Russian Federation Dmitriy Kostennikov, Deputy Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation Alla Manilova, First Deputy Head of the Federal Customs Service of the Russian Federation Ruslan Davydov, Secretary General of the IPA CIS Council Alexey Sergeev, Chief of Staff of the Federation Council Sergey Martynov, Chairman of the Legislative Assembly of St. Petersburg of Vyacheslav Makarov, Vice-Governor of. St Petersburg Oleg Markov, and other heads of federal and regional authorities.
