XXI St. Petersburg International Economic Forum is continuing its work

The parliamentary delegation led by Chairperson of the IPA CIS Council, Speaker of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Valentina Matvienko took part in the Forum.

Valentina Matvienko stressed that the Forum was attended by world leaders and heads of leading international companies. "The Forum is focusing on global economic problems and ways to address them. It is crucial that Russia has been providing this global intellectual economic platform in St. Petersburg".

The Forum was also attended by Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrghyz Republic Chinybay Tursunbekov, who noted the high quality of the event organization. Secretary General of the IPA CIS Council Alexey Sergeev stressed in an interview: "The idea of creating the SPIEF appeared in the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly, and the first nine forums were held in the Tavrisheskiy Palace under the auspices of the IPA CIS".

"The Forum features many interesting topics related to the work of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly and the functioning of the CIS, the Eurasian Economic Union, and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, all this is very useful to us" noted Alexey Sergeev.

The Secretary General of the IPA CIS Council expressed confidence that many of the Forum's ideas could become an impetus for the development of new model laws.
