IPA CIS Delegation Participated in Solemn Mourning Ceremony at Piskarevskoye memorial cemetery

Today, the Russian Federation celebrates the 77th anniversary of the complete liberation of Leningrad from the Nazi siege. The representatives of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly paid tribute to the memory of the citizens and defenders of the besieged city and laid flowers and wreaths to the Motherland Monument and memorial plaques in memory of the citizens of the former Soviet republics, who died defending Leningrad.

The ceremony was attended by Secretary General – Head of the IPA CIS Council Secretariat Dmitriy Kobitskiy and his deputies: Plenipotentiary Representative of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia Ayk Chilingaryan, Plenipotentiary Representative of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus Viktor Kogut, Plenipotentiary Representative of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova Ion Lipciu, Plenipotentiary Representative of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation to the IPA CIS Irina Sokolova, Plenipotentiary Representative of the Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan Bakhtovar Safarzoda, as well as Deputy Executive Secretary of the PA CSTO Mikhail Krotov.

On the eve, Deputy Secretary General of the Council of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly – Plenipotentiary Representative of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan Askhat Nuskabaj and Deputy Executive Secretary of the PA CSTO – Plenipotentiary Representative of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan Viktor Rogalev also paid tribute to the citizens and defenders of Leningrad and laid flowers at the Piskarevskoye Memorial Cemetery and to the monuments to Hero of the Soviet Union Aliya Moldagulova and Poet Zhambyl Zhabayuly.
