Jubilee Medal in Honour of 80th Anniversary of Victory Day to Establish by CIS

Minsk hosted a meeting of the expert group to coordinate the draft decisions of the Council of Foreign Ministers and the Council of CIS Heads of Government on the establishment of a single commemorative medal “80 Years of Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945”.

It is planned to award the medal to veterans of the Great Patriotic War and persons equated to them. Not only citizens of the Commonwealth countries, but also citizens of other states will be able to receive the award.

The front side of the medal depicts the figures of Red Army soldiers raising the Victory Banner over the Reichstag. At the top - the figures “1945 /2025”, on the left - the image of a salute. At the bottom is a faceted five-pointed star surrounded by a laurel wreath.

Establishment of the jubilee medal was included in the Action Plan on the preparation and celebration of the 80^th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War in 2025 in the CIS. The plan was approved by the Council of CIS Heads of Government at a meeting in Bishkek on 26 October 2023.
