IPA CIS Expert Advisory Board on Science and Education Considered Network Forms of Cooperation in Higher Education

On 15 November, a meeting of the IPA CIS Expert Advisory Board on Science and Education was held. The meeting was chaired by Rector of Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Andrei Rudskoi. One of the key topics discussed by the experts were the network forms of interaction in the implementation of higher education programs in the Commonwealth, as well as issues of integration in the field of school education in the CIS.

Secretary General of the IPA CIS Council Dmitriy Kobitskiy greeted the experts.

President of the Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Professor, Academician of the Russian Academy of Education Vladimir Filippov presented to his colleagues information about the work of the CIS Network University.

The CIS Network University implements joint educational programs with the involvement of partners who have resources for training, educational and industrial practices and other types of educational activities.

Director of the North-West Institute of Management of the Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration Andrey Khlutkov spoke about the experience of the Regional Network Academy of Public Administration of CIS Countries, whose strategic partners are the main specialized universities of the Azerbaijan Republic, the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Republic of Moldova, the Republic of Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The IPA CIS Expert Advisory Board discussed proposals for the development of network forms of cooperation in the implementation of higher education programs and the creation of a common educational space in the CIS, including the exchange of experiences and developments, quota for scholarships, grants for students in network forms, international cooperation in the CIS, SCO and BRICS joint network universities, etc.

The participants of the meeting also considered the information on the international educational project “TechnoCalls – Engineers of the Future”. The project aims to develop skills in the use of new technologies among schoolchildren and students and in a global sense – to train the specialists in short supply for the real economy of the CIS countries.

The meeting was also addressed by Deputy Head of the IPA CIS Council Secretariat – IPA CIS IIMDD Director Ivan Musket, Head of the laboratory of Geoecology and sustainable nature management of the Department of international complex problems of nature management and ecology of MGIMO University Natalia Ryazanova, Chief Scientific Secretary of the Higher Attestation Commission of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation Igor Matskevich, Adviser to the Department for Humanitarian Cooperation, General Political and Social Problems of the CIS Executive Committee Valery Klimenko, Head of the Department of the Committee on Social Affairs, Education, Science, Culture and Health of the Office of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic Maria Isanova, expert of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia on Science, Education, Culture, Diaspora, Youth and Sport Maria Vartanyan and Vice-Rector for educational and academic work, Associate Professor of the Armenian State Pedagogical University after Khachatur Abovyan Mariam Ispirian.
