IPA CIS Session to Take Place in Uzbekistan for First Time

The events of the IPA CIS autumn session will be held in Samarkand (Uzbekistan) on 27-28 October 2022.

Heads and members of parliamentary delegations of the IPA CIS Member Nations, as well as representatives of international organizations, academia and experts will take part in person.

The IPA CIS Permanent Commissions on Culture, Information, Tourism and Sport, on Agrarian Policy, Natural Resources and Ecology, on Political Issues and International Cooperation will hold their meetings on 27 October.

On the same day, a meeting of the Youth Interparliamentary Assembly of Member Nations of the Commonwealth of Independent States will bring together young MPs of the Commonwealth countries.

The Assembly’s governing body, the IPA CIS Council, will hold its meeting on 27 October. The heads of the parliamentary delegations will discuss current cooperation issues, draw the outcomes of the measures carried out in 2022, and discuss the monitoring of election campaigns in the CIS countries.

The 54th IPA CIS plenary session will be held on 28 October. The MPs are expected to consider a large agenda, including a set of model laws on electoral subjects.

On 25 October, on the eve of the main events of the session, the Expert Advisory Board of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly and the Regional Commonwealth in the Field of Communications will hold its meeting.
