Tanzila Narbayeva: Support for Women Is a Development Strategy for New Uzbekistan

The research conference “The Role and Merits of Uzbek Women in the History of our Statehood" was co-organized by the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the State Committee for Family and Women Affairs, the Republican Commission on Enhancing the Role of Women in Society, Gender Equality and the Family and the Institute of History of the Academy of Sciences.

Speaker of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, Chairperson of the Republican Commission on Enhancing the Role of Women in Society, Gender Equality and the Family Tanzila Narbayeva  delivered a welcoming speech at the meeting. She noted the significant attention paid today to increasing the activity of women in public administration and socio-economic processes and stressed that support for women and ensuring their active participation was one of the priorities of the Development Strategy of New Uzbekistan for 2022-2026.

The conference brought together senators and MPs, government representatives, women heads of ministries and agencies, representatives of the Institute of History of the Academy of Sciences, “Uzarchiv” agency, members of the Youth Parliament under the Senate, women activists of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, regions and the city of Tashkent, representatives of the civil society.
