Valentina Matvienko Drew Outcomes of Work of Russian Parliament during Spring Session

Speaker of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Valentina Matvienko drew the outcomes of the spring parliamentary session. 16 sessions, including two extraordinary meetings, considered more than 300 laws, the majority of which have a strong social focus. She noted that the senators initiated more than 80 draft laws, part of which was adopted as important federal laws.

Due to the spread of coronavirus, the last session was one of the most intense and non-standard work periods.

The Speaker noted the significant contribution of the working group of the Federation Council on monitoring the legislation and preparation of proposals on its improvement, the work of the advisory bodies at the upper chamber, including the Council on Digital Economy Development.

The Head of the Federation Council stressed that the future activities of the Russian senators would be focused on the Presidential Decree on National Goals of Development of Russia until 2030. During the autumn session, they will continue to work on the legal implementation of the provisions of the revised Constitution.

Valentina Matvienko also recalled a number of past events aimed at the preservation of the heroic history of our country. She highlighted that the topic of maintenance of the historical heritage of the Great Victory would become the central issue of the upcoming Seventh Forum of Russian and Belarusian Regions.
