IPA CIS Council Chairperson met with the Speaker of the Federal National Council of the UAE

During her official visit to the UAE, Chairperson of the IPA CIS Council, Speaker of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Valentina Matvienko had a meeting with Speaker of the Federal National Council of the UAE Amal Al Qubaisi.
The meeting mainly focused on the interparliamentary cooperation. According to Valentina Matvienko, dialogue between parliaments can contribute a lot to the decision-making process of the parliamentary diplomacy on the global scale. The parties also expressed their interest in coordinating their efforts on international parliamentary forums.
The Speaker of the Federal Assembly noted the readiness of the Federal National Council of the UAE to support the Russian initiative of hosting the 137th session of the IPU in St. Petersburg. Valentina Matvienko also commended the Emirati MPs willingness to join to the Eurasian Women’s Forum activities.
