Tanzila Narbaeva Re-Elected Speaker of Senate of Oliy Majlis of Republic of Uzbekistan

Today, at the first session of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan of the new convocation, Tanzila Narbaeva was re-elected the Speaker. She has been in office since June 2019.
In accordance with the Constitution, the candidature of the Speaker of the upper chamber was nominated by President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev. During the secret voting, 95 senators voted in favour of Tanzila Narbaeva.
Secretary General – Head of the IPA CIS Council Secretariat Dmitriy Kobitskiy conveyed his congratulations to Tanzila Narbaeva on her re-election, as well as on her recognition as the “Most Active Statesman – Person of the Year in Uzbekistan”.
