VII Russian-Azerbaijani Youth Forum kicks off in St. Petersburg

The event brought together representatives of the republican, federal and regional youth and student organizations, leaders of youth movements, managers of youth projects, experts and invited guests from the Russian Federation and the Azerbaijan Republic. The Forum aims to develop youth cooperation between the two countries, create the environment for joint development and implementation of projects and programs, support and strengthening of friendship, cooperation and mutual understanding of the people.

Chairman of the CIS Advisory Board on Youth Affairs, Chairperson of the Association of Non-Governmental Organizations “National Youth Council of Russia” Grigory Petushkov, Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports of the Azerbaijan Republic Intigam Babaev, Assistant at the Department of State Youth Policy and Social Projects in Higher Education of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation Rostislav Voytekhovskiy, Vice-Consul of the Azerbaijan Republic in St. Petersburg Rufat Dadashov, Deputy Chairman of the National Council of Youth Organizations of the Azerbaijan Republic Emin Babaev spoke at the plenary session of the event.

YIPA CIS Executive Secretary Margarita Safarova represented the Youth Interparliamentary Assembly of the CIS Member Nations at the Forum. In her welcoming address Margarita Safarova informed the participants on the background and the key areas of activity of the organization, particularly noting strengthening cooperation among young citizens of the member states.

The VII Russian-Azerbaijani Youth Forum will close on 25 September 2019. The program of the event features section meetings “International Projects for Creative Development of the Youth. Propaganda of Culture and Inter-Cultural Dialogue”; “Business for the Youth. Social Entrepreneurship”; “Informal Education and the Role of the Youth NGOs/NPOs in the Development of the Field”; “Sustainable Development Goals”; “Modern Mediaspace”. It is expected that the participants of section meetings will elaborate joint proposals for the development of Russian-Azerbaijani youth cooperation.
